Cherry blossoms along Hwaseong Fortress walls in early April. Perfect weather for the full fortress circuit walk (5.7 km). Traditional archery at Yeonmudae is most enjoyable in mild spring weather.

Hot and humid with heavy monsoon rain in July. Hwaseong Haenggung Palace night openings (Fri-Sun) offer a cooler evening experience. Carry an umbrella and visit early morning.

The best season for Suwon. Comfortable temperatures for the fortress walk, beautiful foliage in October-November. The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is held in autumn.

Cold and dry — similar to Seoul. The fortress walls are still walkable but dress warmly. Suwon Nammun Market is great for warming street food like sundae and tteokbokki.
