Japanese pianist Yuhki Kuramoto played an open-air concert in the rural plains of Gimje, Jeollabuk-do, filmed by the countryside-life channel Onulun. Here is where it was shot, on a country road many locals pass every day.
Released in September 2021 by Onulun, the countryside-life channel run by an MBC producer, this short film follows pianist Yuhki Kuramoto as he plays a grand piano out in the open fields of Gimje, on the wide Honam Plain in Jeollabuk-do.
The camera moves from a quiet village street in Juksan-myeon, past green barley and golden wheat, to a long metasequoia-lined road glowing at sunset. Kuramoto performs four of his best-loved pieces, Dawn, Meditation, Lake Louise and Romance, with no audience but the countryside itself.
The setting is ordinary rural Korea rather than a famous landmark, which is exactly its charm. It is the kind of farm road locals drive every day, here turned into a concert hall under an open sky.

Yes. The metasequoia road and village streets of Juksan-myeon in Gimje are public country roads. There is no concert venue or ticketing, just rural farmland, so visit quietly and respect the working fields and residents.
