Before You Go

Start at Olympic Park in the morning when the park is quieter. It gets busy after noon on weekends.
In spring (late March to early April), Seokchon Lake's cherry blossom path is one of Seoul's most popular. Expect crowds.
Seoul Sky tickets can be purchased on-site or online in advance. Late afternoon entry gives you both daylight and evening city views.
Lotte World (the theme park) is adjacent to Lotte World Mall but requires a full day on its own. Skip it on this route.
The entire route stays within Songpa-gu and is fully walkable. You only need subway to get here and to leave from Jamsil Station at the end.

Olympic Park is an impressive leisure facility in which historic remains from the Baekje era share space with modern, state-of-the-art sports stadiums, an eco-friendly forest, and spacious grass fields. The legacy of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the park not only houses the country’s largest sports arena, but has also become a place where Seoul residents come to relax and unwind. Spread across approximately 1.45 million square meters, Olympic Park encompasses the land that was once Mongchontoseong Fortress and Mongchonhaeja (manmade lake) from the early Baekje period. The park is divided into several zones, including a leisure sports park, a cultural art park, an eco-park, and the History Experience Park dedicated to the area’s rich historic heritage. Because Olympic Park is so large and takes over three hours to explore, visitors are advised to familiarize themselves with entrances and exits and travel routes before they start. To further save time, visitors can ride the Road Train (“Hodori Train”) located next to Peace Square.

The starting point for this east-to-west walk through Songpa. Olympic Park was built for the 1988 Summer Olympics and covers roughly 1.45 million square meters. Enter through the World Peace Gate near Exit 3 of Olympic Park Station, walk through the outdoor sculpture collection, and follow the paved paths through the park. SOMA Museum of Art is inside the grounds if you want to add an indoor stop. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours here before heading southwest toward Songlidangil.

A pedestrian-friendly street in Songpa-gu lined with independent cafes, bakeries, brunch restaurants, and small boutiques. The name blends "Song" from Songpa with "ridangil," a suffix pattern that started with Gyeongnidangil near Itaewon and spread to similar cafe streets across Seoul around 2018.

A good midday stop for lunch or coffee after Olympic Park. Songlidangil is a street of converted residential buildings now housing independent cafes, bakeries, and small restaurants. Urban lake park in Songpa-gu with over 1,000 cherry trees lining its 2.6km walking path. Reflections of pink blossoms on the water with Lotte World Tower in the background make it one of Seoul's most photographed spring spots, especially at dusk when the tower lights up.

Seokchon Lake has two connected bodies of water (East Lake and West Lake) with a paved path running the full perimeter. The walk around one lake takes about 20 to 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. Lotte World Tower is visible across the water from most angles. In spring, over 1,000 cherry trees along the path bloom in late March to early April. Follow the western shore north toward the tower.

End the walk at Lotte World Tower, directly connected to Jamsil Station. Seoul Sky on floors 117 to 123 offers panoramic views of the city. Arriving in the late afternoon lets you watch the skyline shift from daylight to evening lights. The ground-level Lotte World Mall has restaurants and shops if you want to eat before heading home. Jamsil Station (Line 2 and Line 8) is directly below the building.
