Korea Tourism OrganizationA Baekje-era mountain fortress overlooking the Geumgang River in central Gongju. It served as the royal fortress of Baekje during the Ungjin period, when Ungjin (present-day Gongju) was the kingdom's capital from 475 to 538.
The roughly 2.6 km wall circuit, later rebuilt in stone, climbs over wooded ridges with pavilions and gates along the way. Gongsanseong is inscribed as part of the UNESCO Baekje Historic Areas.
