When to Visit Jeonju

Spring

March - May

Hanok Village is beautiful with spring flowers. Perfect for the famous Jeonju bibimbap walking tour. The Jeonju Film Festival happens in late April-May.

Summer

June - August

Hot and rainy. Cool down with patbingsu (shaved ice) and cold naengmyeon (buckwheat noodles). The traditional hanok houses stay surprisingly cool.

Autumn

September - November

Best season for Jeonju. Comfortable walking weather, fall colors in Hanok Village. The Jeonju Bibimbap Festival is in October.

Winter

December - February

Cold but the Hanok Village has a quiet charm. Warm up with Jeonju-style bean sprout soup (kongnamul-gukbap) and makgeolli. Fewer tourists.

Packing Tips

  • Spring: Comfortable walking shoes (cobblestone streets), layers
  • Summer: Umbrella, light clothing, fan for hanok alleys
  • Autumn: Light jacket, appetite for festival food
  • Winter: Heavy coat — Jeonju is inland and can get very cold
