HYBE Headquarters

Corporate headquarters of HYBE in Yongsan, home to BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, NewJeans, and other artists. The ground floor periodically hosts pop-up stores, exhibitions, and fan events tied to album releases and concert seasons.

Sungnyemun

Sungnyemun Gate is Korea’s National Treasure No. 1, and its unofficial name is Namdaemun Gate. Sungnyemun Gate is the largest castle gate stone structure with an arched entrance in the middle. There’s a column on top of a platform, raising the roof, distinguishing the upper stories and lower stories of the building. Passageways for traffic are located at the east and west ends of the gate. Different from the other gates, Sungnyemun Gate’s tablet has its name written vertically. On February 10, 2008, Sungnyemun was destroyed by fire. After a 5-year reconstruction work, the gate was re-opened to the public again on May 4, 2013.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in 1395 as the official palace of the Joseon dynasty by Yi Seong-gye, the future King Taejo and founder of the new regime. Gyeongbokgung Palace is commonly referred to as the Northern Palace because of its location to the north, compared to Changdeokgung Palace in the east and Gyeonghuigung Palace in the west. Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful and is the largest of all five palaces. Many Joseon kings were crowned here. The premises were once destroyed by fire during the Imjin War (1592-1598). However, all of the palace buildings were later restored under the leadership of Heungseondaewongun during the reign of King Gojong. The assassination of Empress Myeongseong, however, resulted in Gyeongbokgung Palace losing its function as a royal palace, eventually witnessing the downfall of the Joseon dynasty. Gyeongbokgung Palace retains the original Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, a prime example of Joseon architecture, and the Hyangwonjeong Pavilion and pond. The sculptures in the Geunjeongjeon Hall exemplify Joseon-era sculpture techniques. The west side of the area outside Heungnyemun Gate is occupied by the National Palace Museum of Korea, while the eastern side of Hyangwonjeong Pavilion within the Gyeongbokgung Palace is occupied by the National Folk Museum of Korea.

BTS made history here performing IDOL for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on September 15, 2020. Wearing hanbok-inspired costumes against the moonlit Geunjeongjeon, the performance became one of the most iconic K-pop stages ever — viewed hundreds of millions of times on YouTube.

Yeouido Hangang Park

Situated in Yeouido, the heart of politics, media, banking and finance, Yeouido Hangang Park is easily accessible via public transportation. The park hosts many exciting events, from the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in spring to the International Fireworks Festival in fall, as well as concerts and marathons throughout the year. Well-preserved natural areas such as Bamseom Island and Yeouido Saetgang Tributary provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about nature and ecology. In addition, thanks to the Hangang Renaissance Project, the park is full of new attractions: the Water Light Square, waterside fountains, a riverside stage, a yacht marina, and more. The Yeouido Hangang Park also served as a backdrop for filming episode 12 of the drama "Divorce Attorney Shin (2023)," where the characters Seong Han and Jeong Guk discuss custody. It is a popular spot in Seoul that is enjoyed by tourists and residents alike and known for its beautiful and eco-friendly natural landscapes.

BTS held their 10th Anniversary FESTA here on June 17, 2023. Tens of thousands of fans gathered along the Han River for fireworks and a surprise live event, turning the park into ARMY's holy ground. Designated BTS photo zones mark the celebration spots along the riverside.

Old Big Hit Studio

The Cheonggu Building in Nonhyeon-dong — where Big Hit Entertainment's original studio stood. Before the move to Yongsan, this modest building was where BTS spent years training, recording, and dreaming. The exterior walls are covered with fan messages in dozens of languages, a pilgrimage site for ARMY worldwide.

Yoojung Sikdang

Small Korean restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, known among BTS fans as a spot the members visited during their trainee days. The interior walls are covered with fan-written messages and BTS memorabilia left by visitors from around the world.

BTS's pre-debut restaurant — the members ate here almost every day during their trainee years. The walls and ceiling are covered with BTS memorabilia, signed posters, fan messages from around the world, and the table where BTS used to sit is marked with stickers showing where each member sat. Order their usual: ssambap or heukdoeji dolsot bibimbap.

Jamsil Olympic Stadium

Multi-purpose stadium built for the 1988 Seoul Olympics, seating approximately 69,000. Now one of Korea's premier K-pop concert venues, hosting major acts including BTS, BLACKPINK, and more.

BTS held multiple sold-out concerts here — 2018 Love Yourself, 2019 Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, and 2022 Permission to Dance On Stage (3 nights). The stadium's 69,000 seats filled with ARMY bombs lighting up in purple remains one of K-pop's most iconic concert images.
