
BTS debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment (now BIGHIT MUSIC) with the single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Originally a hip-hop group, they expanded into pop, R&B, and EDM while addressing themes of mental health, youth, and self-love. They became the first K-pop act to top both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, with 'Dynamite' (2020) earning a Grammy nomination.
As of 2023, BTS is the best-selling musical act in South Korean history with over 40 million albums sold. They hold six number-one albums on the Billboard 200, the fastest by any group since the Beatles. Every member has achieved a solo Top 10 album on the Billboard 200.
In 2026, BTS reunited for the ARIRANG world tour, their first group activity since completing military service.
