Located in the heart of Seoul, Changgyeonggung Palace was originally built as Suganggung Palace by the 4th ruler of the Joseon dynasty, King Sejong (r.1418-1450), for his retiring father, King Taejong. It often served as residential quarters for queens and concubines. During the reign of King Seongjong (r.1469-1494), the palace was renovated and renamed to Changgyeonggung Palace. It later became a park with a zoo and a botanical garden during Japanese colonial rule. The palace grounds remained this way until 1983 when restoration of its old grace was completed.

A royal palace with the densest concentration of cherry trees among Seoul's palaces. During spring, special nighttime opening events illuminate the blossoms against the traditional architecture — one of the most photogenic scenes in all of Korea.

Namsan Mountain rises in the heart of Seoul at an altitude of 265 meters and has been a significant landmark since the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897), leaving behind several ruins. It was heavily damaged in the early 20th century, but was partially restored in 1968 with the creation of the park. Highlights include Namsan Tower and love locks left by numerous couples. Visitors can also easily reach the top by a cable car or bus.

Well-preserved natural areas such as Bamseom Island and Yeouido Saetgang Tributary provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about nature and ecology. In addition, thanks to the Hangang Renaissance Project, the park is full of new attractions: the Water Light Square, waterside fountains, a riverside stage, a yacht marina, and more. The Yeouido Hangang Park also served as a backdrop for filming episode 12 of the drama "Divorce Attorney Shin (2023)," where the characters Seong Han and Jeong Guk discuss custody. It is a popular spot in Seoul that is enjoyed by tourists and residents alike and known for its beautiful and eco-friendly natural landscapes.
