About
A traditional pavilion in Haman, Gyeongsangnam-do, that serves as the venue for the annual Haman Nakhwanori fire-flower festival. The folk tradition dates to the 16th century, when Confucian scholar Jeong Gu began the ceremony to pray for community well-being. Performers on rafts light fire-flower rods suspended over a pond, creating cascading sparks reflected in the water. Designated as a South Gyeongsang Province intangible cultural heritage.
