When to Visit Gangneung

Spring

March - May

Cherry blossoms along Gyeongpo Lake in early April. The famous Gangneung coffee street comes alive. Great for BTS Spring Day filming locations.

Summer

June - August

Cooler than Seoul thanks to the East Sea breeze. Gyeongpo Beach and Jumunjin are popular but less crowded than Busan. Fresh seafood season.

Autumn

September - November

Beautiful foliage along the Taebaek Mountains. Perfect for the Gangneung Coffee Festival (October). Clear ocean views and comfortable hiking weather.

Winter

December - February

Heavy snowfall makes the coast dramatic. Jeongdongjin sunrise is legendary on New Year's Day. Nearby Alpensia and Yongpyong ski resorts are within 1 hour.
