Korea Tourism OrganizationThe head temple of the 7th district of the Jogye Order, supervising 36 temples across the Naepo region of South Chungcheong. The temple is believed to have been founded during the late Baekje period before 601 CE, though detailed records are scarce. Its Daeungjeon (Main Buddha Hall), constructed by Goryeo in 1308, is the oldest standing wooden building in Korea with a confirmed dated construction record and was designated National Treasure No. 49 in 1962. The hall's exposed beam structure (jusimpo style) is studied as a benchmark of Goryeo-era timber architecture.
