The "Geoje Ya-ho" craze and a two-year chart reversal

RESCENE spent two quiet years as a small-agency rookie group. That changed in mid-2026 when clips from leader Woni's personal vlog channel took off. Woni is from Geoje, a southern island city, and a video of the members visiting her hometown, where they shout "Geoje, ya-ho!", drew around 7 million views in three weeks. The mix of down-to-earth regional humor, Gyeongsang dialect bits, and Japanese member Minami's gyaru styling turned the group into a national talking point.

The buzz revived their 2024 single LOVE ATTACK. First released in August 2024 on the EP SCENEDROME, the song staged a rare chart reversal and climbed back into Melon's main Top 100, reaching number 6 in June 2026, almost two years after release. Korean media framed it as a small-agency miracle. RESCENE then confirmed a comeback on July 8, 2026 with a remake of KARA's Pretty Girl.

About RESCENE

RESCENE debuted on March 26, 2024 under THE MUZE Entertainment with the single album Re:Scene, led by the title track UhUh. The five members are leader Woni and Minami, Liv, May and Zena, with Minami joining as the group's Japanese member.

Their first EP Scenedrome arrived on August 27, 2024 with the double title tracks LOVE ATTACK and Pinball, followed by the second EP Glow Up on February 5, 2025 and the digital single Runaway on April 8, 2026.

In 2026 the group drew renewed attention in Korea. The 2024 single LOVE ATTACK staged a chart reversal and re-entered Korea's Melon daily chart long after its original promotion, helped by leader Woni's personal vlog channel and her Geoje hometown persona along with Minami's gyaru styling. RESCENE had earlier sold out their first solo fan concert Project 326 in August 2025. The group returns on July 8, 2026 with Pretty Girl, a remake of KARA's 2008 hit.
