WON JONG LEE / PexelsA UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995 and one of Korea's most celebrated Buddhist temples. Founded in 528 CE during the Silla Dynasty, it took approximately 250 years to complete. Bulguksa is considered the masterpiece of Korean Buddhist architecture, featuring six National Treasures including the Dabotap and Seokgatap stone pagodas and the Cheongun-gyo (Blue Cloud Bridge). The adjacent Seokguram Grotto, a separate UNESCO site, houses a stunning granite Buddha overlooking the East Sea.
